15 Oct London Fashion Weekend Round Up
Well, what an amazing day! It was a very early start but very much worth the trip. I arrived at the Saatchi Gallery off the King’s Road in London with fellow stylist Claire Rees from Cardiff and the lovely Laura Leigh of Award Winning Hair Salon Laura Leigh Hair & Beauty.
Upon arrival we had the opportunity to shop at discounted prices on various brands from high street to designer including many up and coming brands from the British Fashion Council. It’s a shopping opportunity not to be missed!
Here we are on the frow! Best seats in the house! The show itself was presented by the wonderful Angela Scanlon; Stylist, Journalist & TV Presenter with her vibrant red hair and warming Irish accent she hosted a fabulous show. Very Exclusive revealed the four key AW15 trends to know, with must-have buys from international designers and top high street brands. We found outfit inspiration from the runway, with luxury designers including Carven, Marc by Marc Jacobs, J Brand, T by Alexander Wang, Iro, Kenzo, Joseph, Alexander McQueen and See by Chloé, as well as high street brands such as Reiss and Karen Millen on show.
Here I have the four super stylish trends straight from the catwalk this AW15💋
INTO THE WILD
Animal prints take centre stage for AW15. Leopard, cheetah, snake and zebra prints stalked the runway at Roberto Cavalli, McQ Alexander McQueen, By Malene Birger and Elizabeth & James. Introduce the trend via wild accessories, such as box bags and monochrome print boots, or be bold and opt for a dramatic statement coat.
SHADES OF MARSALA
Think baked terracotta landscapes and Sicilian wine to channel AW15’s richest hue. IRO, Joseph and Kenzo all used the standout colour in their collections. Paprika, plum and burgundy tones give timeless accessories and biker jackets an autumnal twist; a slick of berry lipstick complements the trend. Work marsala separates into your look to update a classic monochrome ensemble.
The ‘70s are back in a big way this autumn. Flower power blooms with mesmerising psychedelic prints took us right back to the stylish decade courtesy of looks from See by Chloé, Just Cavalli and DKNY. Build your look around a hero piece such as a patchwork suede mini skirt or throw on a wide-brimmed hat for an effortless autumnal style statement.
Fashion’s inner wild child is unleashed this season, with Vivienne Westwood Anglomania, House of Holland and McQ Alexander McQueen all experimenting with punk styling. Safety pins, leather, bold tartan and black velvet more than nod to the look and hero pieces include zip detailed denim and studded handbags. Take on the trend with shoes or accessories for just a hint of punk attitude in your everyday wardrobe.
